Just came back from Beijing yesterday. Was due to be back only on the 19th night, but my poor bro sprained his back while we were skiing, so home we came. Before i left for Beijing, i conducted a bible study with 2 of my 'kids'. Amazing how there was still stuff to learn about Daniel even after being through long discussions of Daniel during the anntic camp. God amazes me. Often we forget that Daniel was royalty (beginning of chapt 1). To humble himself and be obedient to God such that he gave up his so-called royal food, meat, and to just eat vegetables and drink water was indeed a great test of his obedience and humility before the Lord.
One thing i would like for all you Christians out there to pray for me about is for joy. Joy in serving God, joy in teaching my 'kids', joy in doing everything and doing everythign for God. In His presence, there is fullness of joy. Indeed i want to pray that His presence be with me always that i might also have joy.
My trip to Beijing was good... Great wall, skiing, freshwater pearls, the below 0 temperatures, the palaces etc etc... still... it kind of left me a little empty... dunno why. And... i'm not sure if it is true... but i feel that my family lacks faith in God. That i need prayer too. Yes, they pray, but the prayers seem empty. Somehow...
I'm feeling a deep sense of emptiness... i know i need to talk to Him and so that's what i'm going to do now. So jon, about that chain thing... i guess i'll do it in another posting. Haha.
For all out there... if only you had faith as small as a mustard seed, you can tell the mountain "be thou cast into the sea" and it shall be done for you. Sometimes, we make God too small in our eyes. Sometimes... we don't find that we mean it when we sing "i love You Lord", Think about it. Reflection, i've learnt, is good for the soul.Thyen, pray.
