It wasn't the happiest birthday, but it was not bad either. Somehow i feel that in 21 years of my life, every birthday could have been happier... Why? I have no idea. But then i guess that as humans we shd learn to be contended with what we have. I've learnt that sometimes, exoectations don't do anyone good, especially when sometimes we only see one side of things.
I really don't know what to expect in the various aspects of my life this year. Don't know what God has in store, don't know what the modules i take will do to me or my grades. Yet, i am reminded again that our identity in Christ is not determined, not even affected by our successes and failures in life. In short, indeed it is the process that we go through and the choices that we make along the way that really counts in God's eyes. We are His children, His friends, His preciousssss (in the words of Gollum). I feel loved.
As i was singing the Paul Baloche song in church on Sunday, i was reminded of what i was going through a few weeks/ months back when i sang the exact same song in the same physical place.
"For all You've given to me; For all the blessings that i cannot see, Thank You Lord, Thank You Lord.." Yes, and daryl, is u're reading this... erhem... can i have my cd soon?? heee...
For all the RHCFers and seniors, don't look straight, look up. If that's where ur faith lies, u'll be able to go forward without banging into a pillar.
