Went for FT today... It's weird how sometimes the intended message for the day doesn't come across, but another message does. One personally crafted by God for... well, me.
It was just something so insignificant i bet no one else caught it. Tee Koon was saying "...that God may use us to pray, reach out, evangelise..." (He might not have even said that exactly). The thing i caught is: "use us to pray". I've always prayed for God to 'use me'. That i may be a wonderful instrument for Him to do so many great things. Vaguely picture myself out there somewhere in the midst of a whole nation bowing down to God, a whole nation touched by a revival... Who thought that God uses us to pray? Praying seems so insignificant to what Paul did. Praying just seems too small for me!
But after i heard that, i asked the Lord to humble my heart. Yes Lord, use me to pray. I will pray coz even as i'm spending time with You, I'm moving Your hand and You're using me!
I did grapple a little once when Jon Leong told a few of us about the story of the pastor who always prayed to God about using him. He always prayed "use me, Lord." One day, the Lord answered him and said," You're not a thing for me to use. I want a relationship with you." I didn't believe that God totally didn't want to use us for his kingdom's sake and even for our sake as we become part of His plan. Today, i see where both being used and having a relationship with God comes together. They aren't separate. God reveals, in His time.
